construction |
The outer and inner skin are made of a kevlar / carbon fibre reinforced sandwich material with nomex honeycombs. The frames are reinforced with carbon fibre. The highest quality epoxy resin, as used in the aerospace industry, is used throughout. Vacuum bag technique is used to guarantee the bonding between the outer layers and the sandwich core. The combination of aramidfibre (kevlar) and epoxy resin results in a tear and impact resistance of the outer skin, that cannot be matched with other materials for the same weight. |

Empacher make rowing and sculling blades with smoothies, big blades and macon spoons. The looms are made of 100% ultralight carbon fibre. |
